Vesalio appoints Daniel Davis to board of directors and advisor to chief executive officer

VesalioVesalio has announced the appointment of Daniel Davis to its board of directors and as advisor to the chief executive officer (CEO).

In his new roles with Vesalio, the company has stated that Davis will provide strategic guidance on product portfolio priorities and commercial growth as the company focuses on the recently published Nature coronary thrombectomy clinical data and expands its commercial footprint across coronary, peripheral vascular, and neurovascular markets. His experience spans early-stage businesses through public-company leadership, bringing a board-level and an operator’s perspective to the opportunities and organisational demands of expansion.

“Daniel brings a proven record of building businesses from the early stage through initial public offering, shaping the product and commercial strategies that turn early clinical experience into market leadership,” said Steve Rybka, CEO of Vesalio. “He joins us at a moment of significant momentum given the positive results from the Nature randomised controlled trial (RCT) involving our enVast coronary thrombectomy technology. His perspective will prove especially valuable throughout this next phase of transformative growth. Daniel’s experience will help us focus on Vesalio’s highest-impact opportunities, accelerate execution, and scale the organisation. We are pleased to welcome him as a board member and advisor.”

At Imperative Care, Davis held leadership roles including president, chief operating officer, and chief strategy officer, taking the company from early launch to market leadership in stroke and later building vascular thrombectomy and the Telos robotic-enabled remote stroke businesses. Previously, he served as president and chief commercial officer at Penumbra.

“Vesalio is tackling critical unmet clinical needs across coronary, neurovascular, and peripheral thrombectomy,” said Davis. “The recently published RCT data marks a pivotal moment for the company and a catalyst for its next phase of growth. I look forward to working with Steve and the board to turn that momentum into clear priorities and decisive execution. Working closely with physicians, we will refine our thrombectomy platforms and streamline procedural workflows—with a clear goal: advancing care for patients with significant clot burden.”
